MISSION STATEMENT

To promote and sustain a viable agricultural sector and to develop and manage land resources through the provision of appropriate technical, administrative and advisory services in order to optimize, technical, administrative and to contribute to equitable and sustainable social and economic development in Zimbabwe.

Ministry STRUCTURE

The Ministry of Agriculture has ten (10) departments which deal with different aspects of Agriculture. These departments are headed by Directors and below listed are the departments

• Livestock Production and Development
• Veterinary Field Services and Tsetse Control
• Veterinary Technical Services.
• Agricultural Economics and Marketing
• Agricultural Engineering and Technical Services
• Agricultural Research and Extension (AREX)
• Agricultural Education
• Finance and Administration
• Human Resources
• Internal Audit

In addition to these are parastatals that report to the Ministry namely,

• Agricultural Bank of Zimbabwe (AGRIBANK)
• Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB),
• Pig Industry Board (PIB)
• Agricultural Rural Development Authority(ARDA),
• Grain Marketing Board (GMB),
• Tobacco Research Board (TRB)
• Cold Storage Commission(CSC).
