AGRONOMY SECTION

To develop and test soil and moisture conservation techniques for dry land coffee production

To quantify and qualify the effects of new fertiliser and irrigation products recommended for use in the coffee production.

To compare effects of organic manuring in coffee production.

To study the development pattern of the coffee plant.

To test the agronomic aspects of all varieties introduced in the country.

To conduct soil fertility studies, playing a special attention to soil pH amendments.
ENTOMOLOGY SECTION

To evaluate different insecticidal products for their efficacy in the control of coffee insect pests.

To review insecticide registration data submitted by Agrochemical and recommend.

To carry out research on the biology, ecology and management of the various insect pests.

To identify natural enemies of different insect pests of coffee with a view to develop integrated pest management strategies.

To evaluate botanicals for their efficacy in the control of coffee insects pests.

To develop recommendations on the timing of insecticides for chemical management of insect pest outbreaks.
