Major Functions
-
To
provide Agricultural professional services including research, extension, farmer
training, regulatory, advisory and, technical services:
-
To mobilise the
agricultural sector of Zimbabwe for increased and sustainable agricultural
production and, provide appropriate agricultural technical, professional and
other support services to the agricultural industry.
-
To establish and maintain
strategic alliances, linkages, partnerships and networks with stakeholders and,
with regional and international agricultural research and development agencies.
-
To
advise policy makers on matters related to research, extension and rural
development.
-
To facilitate/mobilize
agricultural resources/inputs for the farming community.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Problem
Diagnosis
-
Diagnose problems of the agricultural industry related to our mandate area for
purposes of finding solutions for them.
-
Develop and disseminate appropriate and Agricultural Technologies.
-
Train farmers in appropriate and sustainable farming methods.
-
Provide farmers and the public with agricultural knowledge and information.
Research and Extension
-
Create and maintain linkages with the private sector, regional and
international partners.
-
Train farmers on sustainable farming methods (Cultivate and Take Care).
Farmer Mobilization for Production:
-
Farmer mobilisation and motivation for production through AREX Zunde Support
Programme and through Technology, Seed and other input fairs,
shows/exhibitions meetings and field days.

Input mobilization and facilitation through fairs.
-
Facilitating fuel distribution to farmers.
