MISSION STATEMENT

To promote sustainable, competitive, and viable agricultural production by providing technical, extension, advisory, and coordination services

FUNCTIOS

I.         Conduct farmer training and capacity building;

ii.    Provide sustainable technical, extension, advisory services & crop production systems;

iii.        Develop and maintain database on crops production

iv.        Promote adoption of new farming technologies

v.         Promote and commercialize marginalized crops;

vi.        Carry out crop assessments;

vii.       Mobilize farmers for targeted production;

viii.      Monitor and evaluate development projects; and Develop farm land use plans

 

LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide extension, advisory and regulatory services to enhance the efficient and sustainable production for high quality livestock and livestock products for food and nutritional security, livelihoods and exports.

FUNCTIONS

  1. Provide livestock technical, extension, advisory services;
  2. Promote sustainable livestock production systems and new farming technologies;
  3. Provide production capacity building to livestock value chain players;
  4. Provide co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation in the development of the livestock sector;
  5. Develop and maintain a livestock information management system;
  6. Carry out livestock assessments;
  7. Provide regulatory and specialist services to the livestock industry;
  8.  Mobilize farmers for targeted production;
